What you did mention directly on the disadvantage of concrete is that with time there there are pit both on the floor and sides of pond. These are likely to habour harmful bacterias .
Am planning to go into the Catfish business, I have a farm that it is exactly an acre with water flow in part of the land an opportunity for earth pond , I can as well contribute concrete pond there too,there is an existing bore hole there too.
